A lifelong writer, Bill has published business and literary articles and blogs, and produced a feature film about human relationships. Our Way is his first book, and he has a second non-fiction project underway.
Bill also serves as a speaker, biographer and strategist, helping other family business owners navigate the opportunities and challenges that inevitably arise when personal and professional lives intersect. As a third-generation owner and executive of Day & Zimmermann, his family's 43,000-employee, century-old family business, Bill has a rare and personal view of the complex and human dynamics behind today’s multi-generational family businesses. He previously worked in the management consulting industry and currently advises multiple startup ventures.
Balancing his passions for business and family, Bill currently chairs Yoh, Day & Zimmermann's multinational recruiting business, and the board of The Haverford School, one of the largest independent schools in the United States. His business accomplishments have included managing a $350 million P&L and launching multiple enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. He has also chaired the American Staffing Association, which supports the $150 billion US staffing industry, and served on the boards of Council for Relationships and Defense Support Services, LLC.
Bill holds a BA from Duke and an MBA from Wharton. He enjoys playing guitar, songwriting, cooking and fishing. He and his family live outside Philadelphia.
